Moldovan freestyle wrestler Ivan Zamfirov won a bronze medal at the European Under-23 Championships that are held in the Hungarian town Szombathely, IPN reports.
In the final of the 57 kg class, Zamfirov beat the representative of the hosts Tamas Roman 11-0. Before this game, the 23-year-old wrestler scored two victories and suffered a defeat in the semifinals.
Moldovan wrester Maxim Sacultan (65 kg class) lost to a Georgian wrestler 4-7 in the quarterfinals. At the European Championships, Moldova is represented by 12 male athletes and three female wrestlers. The competition closes on April 2.
