Wrestler Irina Rîngaci wins gold at World Championships in Albania

Irina Rîngaci became world champion in women's wrestling in the U23 category. At this year's edition of the U23 World Championships, held in Albania’s Tirana, Irina Ringaci defeated Alina Kasabieva of Russia in the final of the 65 kg weight class by 10 to 3, IPN reports.

Before the final, the athlete of the National Team Training Sports Center also beat Rin Teramoto of Japan (2-0), Dilnaz Sazanova of Kyrgyzstan (4-0), and in the semifinals she won against Shiksha Shiksha of India (10-0).

In 2022, Irina Rîngaci was a bronze medalist at the World Championships, in the same category.

"It is noteworthy that Irina Rîngaci is also a senior world champion, a title she won in 2021 in Oslo, Norway. The Ministry of Education and Research congratulates Irina Rîngaci and her coaches on this result," reads a press release of the Ministry.
