Wrestler Anastasia Nichita qualified for the Tokyo Olympics

Following Tudor Cîrlan's student qualification for the bronze medal match at the World Championship in Kazakhstan, wrestler Anastasia Nichita qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.

During the qualifiers, Anastasia defeated Lissette Antes Castillo from Ecuador with a 8-0 score. In the bronze medal match, the 20-year-old athlete will compete with the Nigerian Odunayo Adekuoroye. Previously, Anastasia Nichita surpassed Indian Sarita and Norwegian Grace Jacob Bullen, but lost in the quarterfinals to the future finalist, Japanese Risako Kawai.

Athletes Lilia Fisikovici, Dimitriana Surdu, Zalina Petrivaskaia, archer Alexandra Mârca and swimmer Tatiana Salcuțan also qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.

The Japanese Olympics will be held from July 24 to August 9, 2020.
