Greco-Roman wrestler Alexandru Biciu won a silver medal at the Under 23 Senior European Wrestling Championships held in Istanbul, IPN reports.
In the 63 kg weight class, Biciu easily qualified for the final after beating Portugal’s Julinho Correia, Hungary’s Erik Torba and Slavik Galstyan of Armenia. In the final, he lost to Romania’s Mihai Radu Mihut 3-5.
In the 72 kg class, Anatolie Popov reached the quarterfinals where he was defeated by Tamas Levai of Hungary.
