World Bank to disburse Moldova $30 M in loans

The World Bank (WB) has taken a decision to issue three loans totaling 30 million U.S. dollars to Moldova, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the WB's web site. The loans are issued to help the Moldovan government eliminate poverty, support agriculture and modernize the system of freshwater supplies. The World Bank’s press service said the monies are issues on privileged conditions via a subsidiary, the International Development Association. The largest of the three projects amounts to 14 million U.S. dollars and aims to build or improve water supply and sewerage systems in Moldovan towns and villages. A loan amounting to 10 million U.S. dollars is issued to back up the government’s economic program for eradicating poverty and laying the groundwork for steady economic growth. The third loan stands at 6 million U.S. dollars and will be spent to support the farming sector and make it capable of steady development in unfavorable weather conditions and droughts.
