A team of experts from the field of architecture will inspect the workshops of sculptors in the municipality of Chisinau in a move to identify monumental-decorative works that can be displayed in public places in the city. A decision to this effect was signed by Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca at the suggestion of the head of the Sculptor Division of the Union of Plastic Artists of Moldova Ion Zderciuc and sculptor loan Grecu.
The identified works will be purchased by the municipality from the authors for being exhibited in public places.
Contacted by IPN, senior specialist of the General Division of Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations Nicon Zaporojan, who is a member of the inspection team, said there are talented young people who exhibit their works only at creation contests and keep them in workshops during many years, without the public seeing them. If they are displayed in public places, the whole city will only gain.
