To prevent the abandonment of a newborn baby, the Children’s Rights Projection Division of Chisinau is trying to persuade the mother to move temporarily, together with her another three children, to the Maternal Center where she will be able to recover after giving birth and will benefit from psychological counseling, food and financial support.
The 30-year-old woman gave birth to a healthy child, but she intends to abandon this at the maternity hall owing to the financial difficulties experienced by the family.
Acting head of the Children’s Rights Projection Division Lucia Caciuc has told IPN that she went to discuss with the young mother. Such cases are not frequent in the capital city. Last year, two women were ready to abandon their newborn babies, but were persuaded not to do this.
