A woman aged 38 and her four-year-old child were rushed to the hospital with injuries that they suffered when the minibus on which they travelled collided with a trolleybus at the interaction of the streets Alba Iulia and Ion Pelivan in Chisinau on April 14.
Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati told IPN that legal action was taken in this case. It was preliminarily established that the minibus driver was to blame for the accident as he ignored the red color of the traffic lights. If his guilt is proven, the punishment will depend on the gravity of the injuries suffered by the woman and child.
There were passengers on the trolleybus No. 22 involved in the accident, but these weren’t hurt. Asked by IPN to provide details, spokeswoman for the Chisinau Electric Transport Company Alina Procopciuc said the damage caused to the trolleybus in the accident was estimated at about 30,000 lei. The vehicle has its front part damaged. The Company has all the spare parts needed to repair it.
