Wild geese hunting period start on October 1

On October 1 the hunting period of wild geese starts. Until the last year, the hunter had to have 3 documents: the hunting card, gun license and hunting ticket, which was issued every year for a tax settled by the Association, in 2005 the tax constituted MDL 60. Starting this year, the tickets are not used anymore, in favor of some cards which are offered free of charge to hunters with merits. Other will pay cash money for one day of hunting, the sum constitutes MDL 25. According to the legislation in force, hunting is allowed only Saturday and Sunday, as well as in the days declared national holydays. In Moldova are about 10 000 officially registered hunters. The owners of hunting cards must pass an examination every 5 years. They must prove that they know to handle a gun and have security techniques knowledge.
