Citizens eligible to vote who, after the last participation in elections, have changed their place of residence can declare their new place of residence at the district head’s office or at the mayor’s office in order to be put on the electoral list at the polling station corresponding to the place of stay. Thus, the citizens will be able to vote in the presidential election and the referendum of October 20 at the polling station at the new place of living, IPN reports.

The Central Election Commission said that, through this procedure, the voter will be put on the basic electoral list corresponding to the place of stay, with the mention “Declaration of residence” under the heading “Note”. At the same time, the voter will be automatically removed from the electoral list where he/she has his/her domicile or temporary residence.

When submitting the declaration, the voter will present the ID for confirmation. The registrar will make the necessary mentions in the State Register of Voters and will issue a document confirming that the new place of residence was declared.

The deadline for submitting declarations is September 25 inclusive, which is no later than 25 days before election day.

The submitted declaration is valid only for one election. The declarations submitted for the previous elections are not valid.
