Water supply to a tenement house in Chisinau has been finally resumed after its inhabitants were cut from the distribution system for large debts two weeks ago. Mihai Golban, PR department head at Apa-Canal Chisinau, told Info-Prim Neo that the block was disconnected from the distribution system for debts totalling 140,000 lei. Mihai Golban mentioned that on Monday, November 12, the city authorities and the water supplier Apa-Canal insisted that the inhabitants of the respective tenement meet and discuss the issue. An initiative group headed by the manager of the block is to examine the situation of every flat in the building and produce recommendations on debt-rescheduling. In addition, the group promised to gather from the dwellers part of the sum and pay the first instalment by next Monday, November 19. At the same time, Golban said the fact that the manager of the tenement did nothing to solve the situation is puzzling. The representatives of other residential buildings, being more open to cooperation and more flexible, come to the water supplier the very day the block is disconnected and pay part of the debt or ask for a rescheduling. If the initiative group fails to keep its promises, the tenement house will be again cut from the water supply.
