The wastewater treatment and pumping stations in Cimislia will be put into operation after renovation on November 17. The project cost €800,000 and was implemented by the Czech Republic through the agency of the Czech Development Agency, with the contribution of the Cimislia mayor’s office, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Czech Embassy in Moldova, during the official ceremony the stations will be handed over to representatives of Cimislia town and, respectively, to Apa-Canal Cimislia.

Novak Libor, director of IRCON – a company of the association that carried out the works – said the project contributed to the improvement of the environment in Cimislia town and the adjoining areas. “The reconstruction of the wastewater treatment stations will help improve the impact of human activity on nature and the population’s state of health,” he stated.

Within the project, there was carried out a campaign to inform the students from Cahul about hygiene and environment protection. There was trained the local staff involved in the exploitation and maintaining of the system for treating residual water.
