The electoral officials are obliged to propose to the voter two ballot papers, one for the presidential election and one for the constitutional referendum. The voter will put the signature on the electoral list in two sections, for each ballot. If the voter informs the member of the electoral office that he/she will take only one ballot, they will be guided in which section to sign. It is important to note that the voter cannot repeatedly go to the polling station, invoking the fact that they voted only in one ballot.
In a news conference, Nicolae Panfil, program director of the Promo-LEX Association, said that two days ago, the Central Election Commission issued a circular that specifies the procedure for exercising the right to vote on Sunday, October 20, taking into account the particularities of holding two ballots simultaneously, IPN reports.
At the entrance to the polling station, the voter will present the identity document to the operator and his/her participation in the vote will be registered in the “Elections” information system. After that, the member of the electoral office will verify the voter’s presence in the basic electoral roll and will provide him/her with two ballots. The voter will sign for each of the two ballots, in different sections, or will sign in a single section, if he/she decides to participate in only one of the two ballots.
If the voter received both ballots, signed for them, but decides to vote in only one type of ballot and refuses to insert the blank ballot in the ballot box, he/she will submit a statement requesting that the unused ballot be taken back from them and that their signature on the list be declared null and void, in the respective section.
