The voter turnout in Pocrovca village of Dondușeni district is the highest, of about 54% at noon. The turnout in Salcia village of Taraclia district is the lowest, of only 0.18%, IPN reports, quoting the Central Election Commission.
In the municipality of Chisinau, the voter turnout at noon was 14.3%. The voters in Botanica district were the most active ones, with a turnout of 13.45% (over 18,000 people). In Buiucani, only about 12.63% of the eligible voters cast their ballots.
In the municipality of Balti, the voter turnout was 14.15%.
Almost half a million people voted at the over 1,950 polling stations established in the country by midday. This is 17.89% of the voting-eligible citizens.
More than 2.7 million people are expected to cast a vote today. The threshold for local elections is 25% of the voting-eligible population.
