The voters during October 17 – 31 can file applications to be allowed to vote at the place of stay, IPN reports, quoting the Central Election Commission.

Under the electoral legislation, the voters who, for health or other well-founded reasons, cannot go to the polling station can vote through the mobile ballot box. Applications are submitted in written form starting with two weeks before the election day until 6pm of the day prior to the election day. On the election day, applications can be submitted until 3pm if a medical certificate is also presented.

Given the public health crisis, only the voters with symptoms of COVID-19 infection can vote at the place of stay until 3pm on the election day without being obliged to present a medical certificate.

The persons who cannot file the application to vote at the place of stay themselves can do it through a family member or can ask the social assistant of the mayor’s office to do this. The persons with visual impairments can request to vote at the place of stay verbally too.

On the election day, the head of the polling station commission assigns at least two staff members to travel to the voter’s place of stay with the mobile ballot box and the things needed to vote.

The persons vote according to the voter rolls for voting at the place of stay compiled by the polling station staff based on the submitted applications.
