Voter turnout reached 43% at 7pm

The voter turnout in the country at 7pm was 43%. The voters in Soldanesti district are the most active ones. The voter turnout in Falesti town didn’t exceed even the minimum of 25% needed to validate the elections. On June 14, the voter turnout at this hour was 45%, IPN reports.

President of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Iurie Ciocan told a news conference that the most active voters in Chisinau are those from the Centru district. The voter turnout in Chisinau is over 41%. In 12 settlements of the municipality of Chisinau, more than half of those eligible to vote cast their ballots. The turnout in Truseni was the lowest, of under 40%.

Only 9% of the voters aged between 18 and 25 and of those aged between 26 and 30 marked their ballots.

Iurie Ciocan stated that despite particular incidents, the voting process takes place in accordance with the legal norms. There were no challenges that could affect voting.

At 10pm, the CEC will provide information about the closing of polling places, the final voter turnout and the first preliminary results.
