Voter turnout information delayed

The Central Election Commission could not present information on countrywide voter turnout at 22:00 as promised due to technical problems. Speaking to reporters at a briefing, CEC Secretary Iurie Ciocan attributed the delay to the overloaded central server which processes the voter data. However, some information was still available, including highest and lowest turnout figures – 41.1% in Telenesti district and 8.6% in the Gagauz autonomy. The turnout in Chisinau was 30.7%. According to www.voteaza.md, a website run by the CEC, the turnout was 28.29% countrywide.
