Voronin and de Montis discussed about EU involvement in solving Transnistrian problem

President of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin and the head of Delegation of the European Commission in Chisinau, Cesare De Montis, discussed about the cooperation problem between Moldova and the European Union, especially implementation of the Action Plan Moldova – European Union and EU involvement in solving Transnistrian issue, according to presidency press report. The head of the state reiterated the gratitude of authorities of Chisinau for creation of the Delegation of the European Commission in our country, who considers this step as clear encouraging of continuous closing intentions to EU. Both analysed the successes and shortcomings in implementing the Action Plan Moldova – European Union, and Cesare de Montis expressed his will that within the meeting of the Cooperation Council RM-EU this process to be evaluated as positive as recent conclusion formulated by the International Monetary Fund regarding the implementation of SCERS by Moldova. Regarding the same issue, Voronin mentioned that successful achieving of the Action Plan is a priority of governing team. Voronin mentioned that EU involvement in processes meant to lead to political solving of Transnistrian conflict is a result of conclusion of the Action Plan RM – EU. Union’s participation as observer to negotiation process, creation of the Assistance Mission at Moldovan-Ukrainian border, supporting the implementation actions of the customs regime will contribute to territorial reintegration of Moldova.
