Volume of cash receipts in ten months up 13.8%

The volume of cash receipts in January-October 2022 grew by 13.8% compared with the corresponding period last year to 142,707.3 million lei, IPN reports.

According to the National Bank of Moldova, the rise in the volume of cash receipts was due to the 9.2% increase in the amounts collected from the sale of consumer goods (regardless of sales channel), which account for the largest share (54.1%) of the total receipts. The volume of receipts from the sale of foreign currency to private individuals rose by 91.9% to 9,447.2 million lei.

In October, the volume of cash receipts came to 14,137.8 million lei (-7.5% on September 2022 and +3.2% on October 2021).

The volume of cash releases from licensed banks vaults in the period increased by 12.2% compared with the corresponding period last year to 143,034.8 million lei.

Such dynamics were mainly due to releases from ATM with a significant share of 22% of the total volume of cash releases, which increased in January-October 2022 by 7,158.9 million lei (or +29.5%) as opposed to the similar period of the previous year, and also by the volume of releases from individuals’ accounts, which amounted to 34,389.6 million, which is 24% of the total volume of cash releases, up 5,761.0 million.

The purchase of currency from individuals added up to 38,401.1 million, representing 26.8% of the total volume of cash releases.

In October, the volume of cash releases amounted to 15,110.9 million, which is by 973.2 million lei more than the volume of cash receipts.
