A united society is needed in the Republic of Moldova - a united country that will remain so without making human sacrifices, as it happened in Ukraine, the President of Ukraine Volodymir Zelensky stated in the EPC Summit closing conference. He noted that Ukraine will always stand by Moldova and he himself provides such a guarantee, IPN reports.

The Ukrainian President noted that it was earlier said that the partners from the West would not stand by Ukraine, but everyone ultimately combined forces. Europe became united and he therefore believes that the Republic of Moldova will also be a united country in the future, without rockets needing to fall, without Russia.

Speaking about the Transnistrian conflict, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his confidence that after Ukraine wins the war that is being waged by Russia, Moldova will reintegrate. As to the 5+2 format, he said that this is no longer valid. Kyiv and Chisinau have a common stance on the Transnistrian dispute. “What shall we do with the troops (Russian troops in the Transnistrian region)? They will want to live and will therefore go away. Who wants to live will find a way out,” said the President, noting that Ukraine will not take hostages in Transnistria as this is sovereign territory of the Republic of Moldova.

He also said that Ukraine will intervene on the left side of the Nistru only if Chisinau asks for this, but the Moldovan authorities haven’t made such requests for now. Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his admiration for the pro-European policy pursued by President Maia Sandu and said that he is optimistic about Moldova’s path to the EU.
