The parliamentary group of the Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists is ready to work with the other MPs on a draft of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova. “The humans will always be at the core of our policies,” MP Vladimir Voronin stated from the Parliament’s rostrum, being quoted by IPN.

According to him, 30 years have passed since the country declared its independence and a many things changed meanwhile. New phenomena that could not be reflected in the text of the Constitution then appeared. Under the pressure of the corrupt, mafia regime, the Constitutional Court introduced more than 22 amendments into the Constitution in the absence of such powers.

“If we assess the situation from legal viewpoint, I was the last legitimate President of the Republic of Moldova as the election of the so-called Presidents after 2009 was based on the decision imposed by the oligarchic regime, which was adopted by five members of the Constitutional Court,” stated Vladimir Voronin.

According to him, the creation of a constitutional assembly by involving the political calls and experts will help to bring the rival parties closer and to work out a formula that will lay at the basis of a social contract, the Constitution. The adoption of a new fundamental law by a national referendum will represent the foundations for strengthening society. The MPs can now introduce into the Constitution the basic social parameters of human development, clear guarantees, including for the residents of the Transnistrian region.

The group of the Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists is ready to take part in the designing of programs aimed at reanimating production, industry, agriculture. It will vote for bills designed to eliminate social inequity and differentiation and stands ready to struggle against the economic and demographic catastrophe, said Vladimir Voronin.
