The chairman of the Party of Communists (PCRM) Vladimir Voronin wants the Communist opposition to take over the administration of the Central Election Commission (CEC) so as to discover the frauds committed in the last autumn’s parliamentary elections. He made such a statement in a program on RTR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

According to the Communist leader, the last autumn’s elections were rigged. “First of all, he people who are in Russia were unable to vote because the number of polling places established there was insufficient. Their constitutional right was violated. The elections of last autumn were the most corrupt in Moldova’s history. That’s why the administration of the CEC should be transmitted to the opposition so that we shed light in this case. But it should not be transmitted to the Literals or the Socialists. It is the PCRM that can get at the truth,” he stated.

Vladimir Voronin confessed that by voting for the Gaburici Government and the administration of Parliament, the PCRM achieved a number of goals. “We voted for the Government with great reserve so as to avoid the early elections, which would have been a catastrophe for our country, and to stabilize the political situation in very difficult conditions. We also managed to remove Mihai Ghimpu from power. For us this was a goal of principle. We succeeding in bringing a person from the business sector, with managerial experience, to the post of head of Government and to make the ruling coalition accept the social package proposed by us for their government program,” said the leader of the PCRM.

Vladimir Voronin noted the PCRM will not vote bills put forward by the government coalition if these do not match the party’s electoral platform. “We voted the Government, but didn’t assume responsibility for it. We will follow their activity and will intervene. We already identified five ministers of the current Cabinet against whom we are ready to submit censure motions,” he stated.
