The leader of the Party of Communists (PCRM) Vladimir Voronin filed a complaint to the Prosecutor General’s Office about the “confessions” of the president of honor of the Democratic Party Dumitru Diacov. According to the Communist leader, by a posting on Facebook the Democratic heavyweight admitted publicly that the turncoats from the Communist parliamentary group of the previous legislature were bribed, IPN reports.

“Diacov also said that the president of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin personally received money for the defections of at least eight MPs. Diacov ends his confession by saying that “everyone knows” who gave this money”. Given the public confession of the politician and party leader, we respectfully ask to take legal action over the corruption of MPs, to examined the statements of Mister Dumitru Diacov about the eight MPs named in the posting and to determine the sum of money paid to each of them for leaving, who and to whom paid this money, in what currency and under what conditions,” Vladimir Voronin stated in his complaint.

In his posting on Facebook, Dumitru Diacov refers to the 14 MPs who left the PCRM. “He didn’t try to look for other words than “traitors” for the 14 MPs who left him, even if, as far as I know, Voronin himself took money for the leaving of at least eight of them. From whom, everyone knows! But why is Voronin angry with me?” asked the Democratic politician.

Contacted by IPN for details, Maria Vieru, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office, confirmed that Vladimir Voronin’s complaint was received.
