Vladimir Voronin: “Apolitical President should be political”

The head of the Communist Party Vladimir Voronin during a break in the Parliament's sitting on February 10 told the press that the apolitical head of state for whom the PCRM pleads should not be member of a political party. At the same time, this does not mean that the President should not be political as he will hold the most important position in the state, Info-Prim Neo reports. As to the statements that he resigned himself in September 2009, made by Victor Puscas, the Communist leader said the judge has a short memory owing to old age if he says something like this. “The Constitutional Court accepted my resignation and the arguments I provided on September 11,” Vladimir Voronin said. Judge Victor Puscas is 67. Vladimir Voronin will turn 70 in May.
