The Government of Moldova must be regarded as one that will ensure stability in the period of transition until the future legislative elections, Vladimir Socor, political analyst of the Jamestown Foundation and Eurasia Daily Monitor, said in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.
“I’m not afraid that pro-Russian forces will come to power as a result of early legislative elections. Moscow does not want and does not have possibilities for the Republic of Moldova. Moldova is not within the area of interest of Russia. The Plahotniuc group simply continues to blackmail the voters with the danger of the Russian tanks. It’s good that the early parliamentary elections are planned for next autumn, not for spring. The extraparliamentary parties of the right will manage to strengthen themselves in the period. There are two parties of the right that have big chances in the future elections,” stated Socor.
The analyst considers that Romania should help Moldova by consolidating the parties of the right. “The official Bucharest must not invest in the so-called stability. Romania should help the parties of the right to strengthen their ranks by autumn,” he said.
According to Socor, the Filip Government didn’t manage to produce a positive impression. “I saw only negative moves such as the persecution of the local elected officials of the PLDM and their threatening with criminal cases and the designation of the president of the Supreme Court of Justice as a result of a contest that involved only one candidate that was Plahotniuc’s man,” he stated.
