Authorities in Chisinau once again urge Tiraspol to respond to calls in other similar cases where Moldovan citizens illegally imprisoned and persecuted in the region are targeted. The list includes Alexandru Dimov, Stanislav Menzarari, Mihail Ermurachi, and Vadim Pogorletchii.
Vladimir Dudnic was detained in April 2022 when he left Chisinau for Bender on personal business. He was serving as a military officer in Tighina, but at that time he was on medical leave. According to local press reports, Dudnic was accused of taking money from a Bender woman to help her obtain Moldovan citizenship.
In May 2024, Tiraspol released Victor Plescanov, who was detained in June 2022 after he publicly condemned the Ukraine war.
