The first vice president of the National Unity Party (PUN) Vlad Țurcanu is the party’s candidate for MP in single-member constituency No. 38 of Hâncești municipality in the new parliamentary elections of March 15, the party’s leader Octavian Ţîcu, announced in a news conference, being quoted by IPN.

“It is a Romanian district that consists of citizens with pro-Romania feelings and thoughts. We have very big expectations of this constituency and the elections there will be a first test for our reorganized party,” stated Octavian Ţîcu.

Vlad Țurcanu said that in the election campaign he intends to visit the 40 localities that form part of the constituency so that this has a voice in Parliament that will represent the people there. There are major imbalances between some of the villages of Hâncești district. There is a serious shortage of jobs there even if a lot was invested in this.

“I have confidence in the people in this constituency. I call on all those who know me and who followed my public performance to contact me so that we see how we can together make so that constituency No. 38 on March 15 makes the choice that will satisfy the people and will bring welfare to them,” stated Vlad Țurcanu.

In the same news conference, Ana Guțu, who was named secretary of state in the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Government of Romania, said she will not serve as first vice president of the PUN during her tenure. “I hope this appointment will be first of all to the benefit of all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, not only of the unionists. I want this cooperation to develop so that we bring the political union of the two Romanian states closer. I will contribute to pragmatic projects for the benefit of everyone,” she stated.
