The problems that the Moldovans residing in the Russian Federation face can only be overcome if there is unity and solidarity between Moldova’s citizens. This is what Prime Minister Vlad Filat stated during his meeting with the Moldovan diaspora in Moscow. The Prime Minister said that the agreements on labor migration and on readmission will be finalized and signed in November, reports Info-Prim Neo quoting a communiqué from the Government.
Vlad Filat mentioned that the meetings he had until now in Moscow were mostly concerned with economic relations, gas delivery and the activity of businesses, as well as export barriers. The Prime Minister said that one of the subjects approached was in regards to the conditions in which Moldovans work in the Russian Federation. “We had an honest discussion, and I am sure that we will work on it and solve all existent problems”, said the Premier.
The Prime Minister said that during the meeting with Russian counterpart Dmitri Medvedev dealt with opening a third terminal for the shipment of Moldovan wines to Russia, in the city of Bryansk. In this context, Vlad Filat said that there is a lot to be done in the building of confidence towards Moldovan wines, in order to avoid situations when Moldovan wines are returned and cause losses to the exporters. “We have progressed in terms of fruit and vegetable exports. We also hope that the issue of meat and meat product exports will also be solved. Currently, two companies received permission to export meat, and another two – processed meat”, said Vlad Filat.
Another subject regarded the return to Moldova of young specialists who studies in the Russian Federation. Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca said that the Ministry currently has over 30 vacancies and periodically employs people. “We are waiting for you at home, and will be happy if you apply for a job at the MFAEI, since we need well prepared youth”, said the Deputy Premier.
Towards the end of the discussions Vlad Filat said that they are doing everything towards the interests of the citizens of Moldova, regardless of where they reside, and as a result we must obtain conditions for everyone to come home.
The Moldovan delegation, led by Vlad Filat, is on a visit to Russia, during the period of September 10-12.
