The current Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is not representative. It was chosen based on a corrupt system and does not have the capacity to generate a new government, IPN quoted the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) Vlad Filat as saying in the program “Fourth power” on TV N4 channel.

“I’m certain that snap parliamentary elections will take place judging by the situation we have now in Parliament. This Parliament was elected based on a system that, for its part, was based on administrative resources, on corruption,” stated Vlad Filat.

According to the leader of the PLDM, the MPs who were elected in February 2019 are unable to generate another Government that could help the country overcome the experienced crises.

“I think what happened in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova disqualifies this body, which should be supreme and representative in the Republic of Moldova, from all viewpoints, including the moral one. I think this Parliament does not have the capacity to ensure the necessary political support for the government, for its part, to cope with the multiple crises faced by the Republic of Moldova,” stated the ex-Premier.

Vlad Filat noted that Moldova now goes through an unprecedented, multidimensional crisis that can be managed efficiently only with a Cabinet that would enjoy full political support.

The politician said that he and the PLDM will compete in the eventual snap parliamentary elections.
