The Shor Party’s candidate Vitalie Balinschi said the party that fielded him as a candidate for MP in single-member constituency No. 38 Hâncești really wants the life of people there to be changed. “During the Independence Years of the Republic of Moldova, the politicians came and promised, but, regrettably, none of them did what they promised in election campaigns. We are a political force that is different from the others – we fulfill our promises. This is evident and visible. Everyone can see what was done in the municipality of Orhei, in Orhei district and how the life of people in these localities changed,” the candidate stated in a public debate entitled “Stake of candidates vs. stake of voters” that involved candidates for MP in constituency No. 38 Hâncești, first round, and was staged by IPN News Agency.

According to the candidate, now the party wants Hâncești to become the third constituency that will be represented by the Shor Party in Parliament. The projects that were already implemented in Orhei and in the communities where they won the local elections would be implemented also in Hâncești. “The problems faced in Hâncești are the same as those encountered all over Moldova and we know how to deal with them. We know the people in localities experience many problems. I travelled to settlements and saw them. The people want changes, lit streets, good roads, high-quality services provided by the local and central public authorities. If we win the seat of MP, we will implement the changes we made in Orhei also in Hâncești,” stated Vitalie Balinschi.

The Shor Party’s candidate noted that during three weeks he visited practically all the localities of constituency No. 38 and saw what problems the people face there. He realized that the problems experienced daily are the stake of the voters. “The roads or, more exactly, the inexistence of roads, water supply and sewerage, public transport that do not exist in villages and towns. The improvement of the living conditions is their stake. They want to benefit from an asphalted road, from sidewalks, from street lighting and normal living standards. The justice sector reform and the pension system reform are also needed, but we must perceive the essence of the problems of the people who live below the subsistence level,” stated Vitalie Balinschi, noting that together with the party he represents, he knows how to ensure decent living conditions for the people, by the model implemented in Orhei municipality.

The candidate noted the Shor Party is the only party that being in the opposition in 2015 and 2019, managed to do something, while the party’s candidates who won the elections in constituencies on February 24, 2019 really implement projects that change people’s lives. His opponents who represent parties that won the elections in single-members constituencies did nothing and only made promises. The Shor Party showed in Orhei that the people have confidence in the representatives of this party event if they are not from the localities where they won the elections. A person who is not a local can work easier there as he can treat everyone equally.

Vitalie Balinschi said the Shor Party does not support a common candidate in these elections as it is able to implement itself what it promised to the voters. In another development, he stated that a year has passed since the elections of last February, but no changes in the country can be seen. “We already had two Governments. One Government ruled for five months and left. The current Government does not enjoy clear political support. It is vulnerable. The political situation didn’t change in Parliament or for the people. If I enter Moldova’s Parliament, I will insist on voting those social bills that are designed to improve people’s lives. I will continue to be in constructive opposition and will vote bills that will contribute to enhanced living conditions,” he noted.

The debate “Stake of candidates vs. stake of voters” that involved candidates for MP in constituency No. 38 Hâncești, first round, was the 125th installment of the series of debates “Developing political culture through public debates” that is supported by the German foundation “Hanns Seidel”.
