The main objective of candidate Maia Sandu is to clean Parliament, which is considered illegal by the members of the Party of Acton and Solidarity. When she is elected President, she will have to work with a new majority, Maia Sandu’s representative Virgiliu Pâslariuc said in IPN’s electoral debate “We and the President” who elects who, who represents who?”.

Virgiliu Pâslariuc noted that the President should be a person who unites and Moldova lacks such a President. The politicians chose to divide the people without taking into account the common sufferings of these. “Regardless of the language they speak, their political views, all the citizens are affected by the same problems: stealing, migration, corruption. For the President to better understand the people’s problems, this should not be isolated and the people should have access to him/her,” stated the PAS MP.

He noted that Moldova until now had only Presidents who dealt with their own problems, not the problems of the citizens.

The fact that Moldova is now in unprecedented international isolation is the result of the unbalanced policy pursued by Igor Dodon. “The new President, and we hope this will be Maia Sandu, will have to rebuild the foreign partners’ and international community’s confidence. That’s why the upcoming elections are very important. We will issue at international level the signal that Moldova is changing and has the chance to change,” said Maia Sandu’s representative.

He reiterated that the foreign policy should be in favor of the people. The relations with Romania, Ukraine, the United States and Russia should be restored so that the people benefit from correct relations.

Virgiliu Pâslariuc noted that the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU should be restarted as the county has shortcomings in this regard, but its future is in this direction.

The electoral debate “We and the President” who elects who, who represents who?” forms part of the series of public debates held by IPN News Agency in the framework of the project “Developing political culture through public debates” that is supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
