Victoria Furtună, an independent candidate in the first round of the presidential elections, is urging her supporters to back Alexandr Stoianoglo, the PSRM candidate, in the second round. "I urge you to vote for Stoianoglo, if only because he is not Maia Sandu," she said in a video message, as reported by IPN.

The former presidential candidate mentioned that she has little in common with Alexandr Stoianoglo and that each has their own electoral program. However, she is convinced that only Stoianoglo is the person "who can stop Maia Sandu."

"Today, I urge you to vote for the only person who can stop Maia Sandu. Perhaps Stoianoglo promises something you, my supporters, may not like, but at least he doesn't lead us towards armed conflict or sell us off piece by piece to people completely foreign to us," she stated.

"I want our country to be led by Moldovans, not by Romanians or foreign secret services. I want no war. All of this is part of Maia Sandu's policies, and this is what she will continue to do if she remains in power. [...] Choose peace, good people, not war. Choose development, not a chasm of debt. Choose our own, not foreigners. Choose our country and our land, not Brussels," Victoria Furtună urged.

The media has speculated that Victoria Furtună may be one of Ilan Șor’s proxy candidates for the presidency of the Republic of Moldova.

In the October 20 presidential election, Victoria Furtună garnered 4.45%, or over 68,700 valid votes.
