"I wish that everything we go to the European Union for, we could also achieve at home, in the Republic of Moldova," says Victor Nistorică, the administrator of Bardar bakery in Ialoveni district. This is a successful business in our country, with products available on the shelves of over 150 stores in Romania. The company plans to export fresh pies, cakes to Germany, Ireland, and even Israel.

The business was founded in 2000 in the village of the same name—Bardar, located 15 kilometers from Chișinău. Victor Nistorică acknowledges that he has been to the EU and was greatly impressed.

"In the EU, I was impressed by how easy it is to get around, how easy it is to communicate, how accessible products and services are, and how well-organized the infrastructure is. People feel free, they can travel anywhere and work without discrimination," states the company administrator.

In a short video interview, recorded as part of an informational and electoral education campaign regarding Moldova's European integration, Nistorică also spoke about his expectations from the European Union.

"We want to bring our traditional products to the EU, where they are harder to find, and where our compatriots need them. I desire a higher standard of living, security, and European-level medical services, so that everything we do now in the EU can be achieved at home," the entrepreneur adds.

In the future, the entrepreneur wants to see Moldova as a safe and welcoming country "with beautiful nature and a well-preserved culture."

"We need to capitalize on these opportunities and welcome tourists with open arms," Nistorică concluded.

The interview with Victor Nistorică is the second in a series of stories from Moldovan entrepreneurs, aimed at involving the business community in supporting the referendum on European integration, which will take place on October 20, 2024.

This message is part of the information and electoral education campaign about Moldova's European integration.
