Moldovan Greco-Roman wrestler Victor Ciobanu became European vice-champion. He missed the chance to triumph for the second time in Bucharest after winning the 2019 title. This time, the 31-year-old athlete lost to Azerbaijan’s Nihat Mammadli in the final of the 60 kg weight category, IPN reports.
At this year’s European Championships, Mihai Cucul’s pupil won against Viktor Petryk of Ukraine, Georgij Tibilov of Serbia and Sadyk Lalaev, who was born in Russia.
In the women’s competition, Mariana Draguțan reached the final of the 55 kg weight category. She beat Hungary’s Roza Szenttamasi and Poland’s Roksana Zasina and in the final will meet Romania’s Andreea Beatrice Ana.
