Victor Ciobanu was named the athlete of 2018 in Moldova. Two months ago, he became world Greco-Roman wrestling vice champion. In the rankings, Victor Ciobanu was followed by taekwondo wrestler Aaron Cook and archer Dan Olaru.
“I desired a lot to win this award. In 2014, I took the second spot in these rankings. Now I hoped I will be named the best. I’m very glad. I thank all those who support me as I had harder moments too,” Victor Ciobanu stated for IPN.
The coach of the national Greco-Roman wrestling squad Mihai Cucul was conferred the title of best coach, while the national beach soccer team of Moldova was named the best team.
