Businessman Ion Sturza would be an ideal candidate for premiership, Victor Chirila, director of the Foreign Policy Association, said in the program “European Horizon” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.
“Ion Sturza showed that he is the person who can do reforms and is a good manager. Recently he even proposed solutions for overcoming the crisis in Moldova. I think he is the most suitable candidate,” stated Chirila.
Petrisor Peiu, economic expert of the Black Sea University Foundation, does not yet share this opinion. “I don’t think the Republic of Moldova is waiting for such leaders as Ion Sturza. We should not forget that when Ion Sturza was Premier, Vlad Filat was promoted to the post of chief of the Privatization Department. Namely during the premiership of Sturza, the company “Moldovagaz” was privatized and I don’t think that Filat coped by himself then. So, Ion Sturza can be a compromise solution, but not the best compromise,” he stated.
