Over half a year of the investiture, the Filat Government approved only one document classed as “secret”, said Minister of State Victor Bodiu, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “It is true that the Government has held several secret meetings, but not to adopt but desecretize secret documents, as the law requires. Afterward, these documents were made public. They were classified as secret, but did not actually contain a secret concerning security, defense and other state matters,” the minister said. Victor Bodiu denied that the documents are desecretized according to political criteria. “The desecretized decisions concern the use of public money or purchases with public money. In accordance with the legislation, this area is not a state secret. The civil society has the right to know and monitor how the public money is used,” he said. The official also said that some of the decisions that are now desecretized, especially those regarding the allocation of money for carrying out certain works or providing certain services, were approved illegally as there were held no tender contests and the money was not planned in the budget. Now the Ministry of Finance has to identify financial resources to implement a part of those decisions. It is the Prosecutor's Office and other competent bodies that should investigate the cases and hold the persons who approved such decisions accountable, Victor Bodiu said.
