The National Football Division debutants opened the new season successfully. Veris Chisinau beat Olimpia Balti 3-0 away, while Dinamo-Auto Tiraspol defeated Academia Chisinau 2-0.
Viorel Frunza scored two goals for Veris, while at Dinamo-Auto the best player was Victor Truhanov.
However, the rankings after the first stage are headed by Milsami Orhei, which demolished Speranta Crihana Veche 6-0. The goals were scored by Petru Leuca (two), Ovye Monday, Vadim Boloham, Guilherme de Paula and Ciprian Soporan. Milsami is now to play against Saint-Etienne France in Europa League.
Champion Sheriff Tiraspol drew at home with Zimbru Chisinau 2-2. Being led by 2-0 after the goals scored by its former players Anatol Cheptine and Alexandru Dedov, Sheriff recovered ultimately owing to strikers Marko Markovski of Serbia and Ismail Isa of Bulgaria.
No goals were scored in another important match of the stage, between Dacia Chisinau and FC Tiraspol.
The first goal in the new football season was scored by Dumitru Bacal. His team Rapid Ghidighici won against FC Costuleni 2-1.
The next National Division matches will be played on August 3 and 4. FC Costuleni meets Speranta, Dinamo-Auto – Milsami, FC Tiraspol – Academia, Zimbru – Dacia, Veris – Sheriff, while Rapid – Olimpia.
