The Party of Communist’s candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Vasili Chirtoca said Chisinau is one of the few cities in the world that can be developed continuously. In a meeting with voters on May 19, the candidate said the he and his team know how to transform the capital into one of the most beautiful cities in the world, which will be visited by a lot of tourists, IPN reports.
Vasili Chirtoca said that earlier, when his children were small and he walked with his family through parks, he wondered how beautiful these were, with every tree and bush being planted in a particular place, not accidentally. Now the people fear they will see a new building, erected overnight, in front of their houses or in green areas. This is not right. The constructions that are over 15 meters in height and that affect the lighting in the houses located nearby should be banned.
The candidate noted that he will not tolerate the continuous pollution of water and air in the municipality of Chisinau. He will encourage the businesses that will develop projects to collect used plastic containers and glass bottles. “I’m convinced that when I become mayor, I will be helped by my team to make Chisinau one of the most beautiful and comfortable cities so that the people want to stay here,” he stated.
Vasili Chirtoca also said that bureaucracy in the Chisinau City Hall should be combated. The extra functionaries who only create impediments in the process of solving problems should be assigned to maintain the green areas, roads, etc.
The candidate concluded by saying that a powerful mayor must enjoy the support of his team and voiced hope that the Party of Communists will win a majority of seats on the Chisinau Municipal Council.
