Vasile Zgardan is the newly elected chairman of the Chisinau branch of the “European Action” Movement (EAM). Former Member of Parliament, former manager of an enterprise and currently director of a Moldovan-Romanian company, Vasile Zgardan, was elected during the conference of the EAM Chisinau branch, which took place on June 20.
EAM president Anatol Petrencu told Info-Prim Neo that the majority of those 120 delegates to the conference voted for Zgardan, who has been an EAM member since its day of foundation.
The participants in the conference also elected the EAM Chisinau Council consisting of 13 persons and the Audition Committee.
Anatol Petrencu said that the issue of actual statute of the Movement was also discussed during the conference, as the Ministry of Justice did not return them to EAM yet. Petrencu mentioned that he twice visited Minister Vitalie Parlog, who promised that the documents will be handed back, but EAM is still waiting. “In case we don’t get the official documents within two days, we will stage a protest in front of the Ministry”, Petrencu said.
According to the EAM president, participants have discussed during the conference about expanding the party, mostly referring to quality than to quantity.
EAM has more than 1200 registered members in the Chisinau branch and about 10,000 throughout the country.
