Vasile Tarlev is for adequate application of customs tax for import in order to protect the local producer

The prime-minister Vasile Tarlev supports the proposals of the Working Group lead by the president of the Commerce and Industry Chamber, Gheorghe Cucu, regarding the adequate application of customs import tax that is an important economic tool, largely used in the international practice, in order to support the local producer. The Working Group was created with the scope to assess the problems faced by local producers, expressed during the Forum “ Investment Opportunities in the Republic of Moldova”, that took place in autumn 2005. Issues regarding the support of the local producer were discussed during a working session with decision factors, hold on Saturday. Tarlev underlined the fact that overcoming un-tariff obstacles is as well highly important for local producers. The head of the Government draw attention towards the fact that it is necessary to continue the policy of reducing red-tape barriers that producers face at every stage of the business. Meanwhile, he mentioned that permanently reducing unjustified involvement from behalf of the control bodies in the activity of the company and of the number of certificates and authorizations the producer has to obtain is also important.
