Vasile Tarlev, the presidential candidate of the Party for the Future of Moldova, exercised his right to vote. He said that he voted for the future of Moldova – a better, happier, more prosperous future. Also, he gave his vote “for prosperity and success”.

The candidate stated that he came to the polling station with thoughts of peace, courage, desire to do nice things for Moldova, noting that for this he has strength, team, hope and wants Moldova to have better living conditions for the people to return home and for the elderly to have a better life.

According to Vasile Tarlev, there were press reports that he was excluded from the ballot and people should vote for someone else. Also, at the Cancer Hospital, the Republican Clinical Hospital and the Tuberculosis Hospital, the medical personnel are collecting patients’ ballots for a particular purpose. Representatives of the Republican Hospital denied the candidate’s assertions and assured that the voting process takes place in accordance with the legal norms and that there are no inconsistencies in the patient lists.

The candidate said he considers that it is not democratic and fair for the presidential election and the referendum to take place on the same day.

Vasile Tarlev came to the polling station together with his wife, who said that she voted for a better future of Moldova.

Traditionally, polls open at 07:00 a.m. and close at 09:00 p.m. However, the electoral office can decide to extend the voting deadline by at most two hours to allow citizens standing in a line at the polling station to vote.
