Journalist Vasile Năstase is the candidate of ACUM Bloc in the uninominal constituency no. 33, in the snap parliamentary elections of 20 October. The candidate was presented today, September 14, at a public event, IPN reports.
The Vice-Chairman of Dignity and Truth Platform Party, Inga Grigoriu, describes Vasile Năstase as a "man of the resistance, member of the first Parliament, who signed the Declaration of Independence, a well-known journalist, a man of dignity and patience".
In his turn, Vasile Nastase noted that he accepted the status of candidate at the request of colleagues and citizens who proposed him. He says he does not want a mandate for him, but for the citizens of the constituency.
Vasile Nastase mentions that, if he becomes a MP, he will come up with a package of draft laws that will improve the situation of people. They are aimed at fighting corruption and capped wages, revising high profile political cases, etc. He says he knows what problems residents of constituency no. 33 are facing and has already prepared five files on these localities to work on with his team.
"It is most important that we bring back people’s trust in international and state institutions," said Vasile Nastase.
At the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019, in constituency no. 33 there was elected MP Andrei Nastase, who is also the brother of Vasile Nastase. Andrei Năstase gave up his mandate in favour of the position of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs.
Circumscription no. 33 includes Trușeni village, Durlești town, Băcioi village, Codru town and Sângera town.
