The candidate for mayor of Chisinau of the Party “Democracy at Home” Vasile Costiuc said he voted for a decent future at home. Vasile Costiuc went to the polling place accompanied by his family. He said he voted for a properly managed city, for arranged parks and roads of a high quality, IPN reports.
“We completed a very difficult campaign and reached the decisive day and this is not at all bad. I thank all those who helped me, with whom I interacted and those who were patient to listen to our plans for Chisinau,” stated Vasile Costiuc.
The candidate called on the voters not to be indifferent to the fate of the city and go and mark their ballot.
Eleven candidates are contending for the mayoralty of Chisinau. For the elections to be valid, the voter turnout should be of at least one fourth of the voters. The candidate who gains more than half of the votes wins the elections. If no one gathers the necessary number of votes, runoffs are held in two weeks for the two candidates who obtained most of the votes. If the elections are invalidated or nullified, they are rerun in two weeks based on the same voter rolls and with the same candidates.
