Vasile Bolea is running for the post of mayor general of the municipality of Chisinau on behalf of the Revival Party.
He was born on October 27, 1982 in the municipality of Chisinau. He is married and has two children.
In 2000-2004, he studied at “Ștefan cel Mare” Academy of the Ministry of the Interior, the Law Department, the Economic Law specialty. The next year, he obtained the degree of master of law, the Entrepreneurship Law, from the Academy.
In 2006, he served as a jurist at the joint Moldovan-German company “T.Schmidt Landbau”. In 2006-2009, he provided legal services based on contracts for the provision of legal services. In the same period, he trained as an international master in rugby, being a member of Moldova’s rugby team. He won a bronze medal at the 2007 European Rugby Championship in Moscow.
In 2010-2012, he served as a senior jurist at Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 4. Since 2009 until 2010, he worked as a trainee lawyer at BIA “Barrister Service”. After 2011, he headed the Legal Department of the Charity Foundation “Soluția”. In 2011-2014, he worked as a senior jurist at the state news agency “Moldpres” (Official Gazette).
Vasile Bolea entered Parliament on the Party of Socialists’ ticket after the elections of 2014 and later after the parliamentary elections of 2019, on the lists of the PSRM, and after the snap parliamentary elections of July 2021, on the lists of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists. In May 2023, Vasile Bolea was excluded from the BCS group and also from the PSRM by the party’s executive committee after the press reported that he and a mate of his flied to Tel Aviv in Israel, where Ilan Shor stays now. In the period, Bolea announced that he decided to join the Revival Party, following the example of another two former Socialists.
For 2022, the candidate declared over 239,000 lei salaries from Parliament. His wife earned almost 262,000 lei salaries from “Moldpres”. Vasile Bolea also received over 245,000 lei allowances from Parliament. His wife earned over 70,000 lei in rental for real estate and 12,800 lei and over €2,000 allowances, including child benefit.
Vasile Bolea also owns a lot purchased in 2022 for 72,000 lei. The family declared commercial spaces bought in 2021-2022 for a total of €95,000. The candidate’s wife in 2022 received by donation an apartment of over 82 square meters, which is worth almost 605,000 lei. The family also possesses three more apartments of about 50 square meters - two to the value of 278,000 lei and over 219,999 lei, respectively, which were purchased in 2003, and another one to the value of over €39,000 bought in 2020. The MP’s wife since 2013 has owned a car made in 2010, to the value of 70,000 lei. The family has investment funds totaling 35,000 lei in SA “Grawe Carat” and holdings in two Ltds and in a joint stock company.
The property statement also indicates debts – a bank loan of 500,000 lei raised in 2022 at an interest rate of 8%, which is repayable by 2037, and 500,000 lei and €25,000 borrowed from private individuals without interest. A sum of 200,000 lei was also borrowed without interest.
In the campaign, Vasile Bolea made a series of promises that he intends to deliver if he becomes mayor of the municipality of Chisinau. He pledged to raise the number of recipients of compensatory payments for professionals from education and healthcare. He said that he will launch a broad program to build and repair municipal infrastructure and a clear urban development plan for Chisinau. He also said that the municipal hospitals should be modernized and the medical personnel should be offered compensatory payments.
As it was decided by draw, Vasile Bolea of the Revival Party will be next to No. 14 on the ballot.
