Socialist MP Vasile Bolea regrets that his formulation in relation to a political-juridical action was distorted and therefore offers apologies to the families and persons who felt offended. Such a message was disseminated by the MP on January 6 after yesterday a number of public associations and Internet users demanded that the MP should apologize for saying that “the self-dissolution of Parliament is the invention of an autistic man that is rammed down the throat”.

“Dear friends, I have always had empathy with persons who suffer from particular problems in life, regardless of their origin. I was educated like this in the family, in a Christian spirit. I fully share the pain of the families with autistic children. I know personally such cases and fully realize through what the parents, in particular, go,” the MP posted on Facebook.

Vasile Bolea reiterated that those who went to the Constitutional Court to ask if Parliament can dissolve itself try to reinvent the country’s Constitution and to ram unconstitutional ideas down the throat.

After Vasile Bolea published his posting, representatives of the public association “SOS Autism” expressed their indignation, profound disgust and disappointment at the given statement. The Federation for the Rights and Resources of Persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders said the term used by the MP is embarrassing. “We encourage you to be as bold and upright and to come out before the press and apologize publicly for this imprudent message,” said the Federation’s message.
