The chairman of Save Bessarabia Union, Valeriu Munteanu, asks the Prime Minister Maia Sandu to hand over the Ministry of Internal Affairs to those who know the area and can come up with solutions that could offer citizens feelings of security. At an IPN press conference, Valeriu Munteanu has specified that the vast majority of citizens feel growing insecurity due to the crime increase.
“People are just afraid of getting into traffic. When they reach an intersection, they look a few times to the left and to the right to see if a madman entered the wrong way or on the red light,” said Valeriu Munteanu.

The chairman of Save Bessarabia Union has mentioned that the dynamics of crime in the Republic of Moldova is increasing rapidly. "The enemy does not come from outside. It is within the state, and the authorities do nothing to that effect. Today we can declare that the Ministry of the Interior has enough money to carry out its basic tasks”, said Valeriu Munteanu.

He has said that the increase in crime in the last three-four months is primarily due to the reorganization of criminal groups with the change of government. "Unfortunately, today we do not have a minister at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He is involved in the election campaign, creating the feeling that Mr. Andrei Nastase would like all police officers to share leaflets rather than to watch over public order, " said the USB chair, who mentioned he was pleading for the set-up of local police subordinated to the Chisinau City Hall.

Valeriu Munteanu has specified that in any normal state, after this wave of crime and insecurity, resignations and dismissals would have followed. "Prime Minister Maia Sandu is the only person who can cut this Gordian knot. Dear Maia Sandu, do not wait for the election to end. You cannot wait for one more day without entrusting the Ministry of Interior to those who really know this area and can come up with solutions today, "said Valeriu Munteanu, who has also mentioned the appointment of another head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will give the citizens a sense of security.
