Valeriu Munteanu: I voted for a Romanian and European Chisinau

After exercising his right to vote in the local elections on October 20, Valeriu Munteanu, the candidate of Save the Bessarabia Union/USB, stated that he cast his ballot so that Chisinau could become a Romanian and pro-European city, IPN reports.

"I voted for a Chisinau without Russian influence and without corruption. I voted for the union of Bessarabia with Romania”, said Valeriu Munteanu, who expressed his confidence that, in today's elections, the citizens of the capital will separate the wheat from the chaff.

The USB candidate has mentioned that in the course of the day he will be interacting with his colleagues in the territory and will monitor the electoral process.

For general mayor of Chisinau municipality, 18 candidates are competing. As general mayor of Chisinau municipality shall be elected the candidate who has accumulated 50% + one vote. If none of the candidates manages to cross this threshold, the second round of elections is organized with the first two candidates, where the winner is the one who has accumulated the greatest number of votes.
