Valeria Sterbet steps down from Supreme Court

On Friday, March 2, Parliament discharged Valeria Sterbet from the office of Judge and concurrently Chair of the Supreme Court of Justice, following her notification of resignation. Sterbet has been appointed as Judge of the Constitutional Court by the High Council of Magistracy as of February 15. Also on Friday, Parliament approved the nominal composition of the College of the Prosecutor’s Office, counting 9 members. The chair of the College is Prosecutor General Valeriu Gurbulea. The other eight members are: first deputy prosecutor general Vasile Pascari, the two deputies - Valeriu Botnari and Igor Serbinov, prosecutor of Gagauzia – Gheorghe Leiciu, prosecutor of Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office – Boris Poiata, Sergiu Garabagiu – head of division, Oleg Moruz – head of division, and Liuba Draguta, prosecutor at the General Prosecutor’s Office. At present, the College of the Prosecutor’s Office is composed of 7 members.
