The State University of Moldova (USM) has received a book donation during a visit by Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu, reports IPN.
Approximately 500 volumes from the Săvârşin Royal Library were donated. The books are diverse in subject, from history and literature to political science and international relations.
USM rector Igor Șarov thanked for the book donation and for the multiple projects supported by the Royal House. “This is a gesture that honors us, but at the same time makes us responsible. We are deeply grateful for the continued support of the Royal House in promoting the high values of knowledge at the service of fellow human beings, the only ones capable of ennobling our humble human nature. I want to assure you that our efforts are combined on the training, education and cultivation of young people who will become promoters of national and European values”, said the rector of USM.
During their visit, HM Margareta and HRH Prince Radu met with USM students. HRH Prince Radu gave a lecture about the path to the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU and urged the young people to wear with pride the title of students of the largest and most prestigious university in the country.
